Walk For Victims of Pit Bulls and Other Dangerous Dogs

This walk will take place in Tucson, AZ
October 27, 2012 at noon
Lincoln Park (South Pantano Rd)

The Walk is to honor and remember VICTIMS of pit bull and other dangerous dog attacks, and to promote awareness on this issue.

"It's NOT about legislation, or trying to get legislation enacted in Tucson.....We will NOT let this walk be about that....
It is about and for the VICTIMS of these dog attacks."

Since my service dog was viciously attacked by a pit bull type dog while out enjoying some fetch at the park, I stated doing some research on these dogs and found so many others who have also been attacked, but with more consequence.  I joined a group of other victims, and have learned SO much about these dogs, these attacks, and the people who own these dogs.

The people who own these dogs have proven themselves to be just as vicious as their dogs, if not more. Once a person becomes a victim of their dogs, they also are forced to become a victim of the horrendous and vicious attacks perpetrated by their owners. Their owners show no compassion for the victims of their dogs, often grabbing their dog/s after an attack and fleeing the scene.  Then this group of owners seem to get together to keep the attacking dog from being appropriately euthanized, since it brutally and viciously attacked a child, or someone's pet.  They make donations for the attacking dog/s, they hold vigils for the attacking dog/s, and they protest ANY and ALL type of regulations that any city/county/state proposes in order to keep residents safe from their attacking dogs.

This is Sociopathic behavior: "Someone whose social behavior is extremely abnormal.Sociopaths are interested only in their personal needs and desires, without concern for the effects of their behavior on others."

  [soh-see-uh-path, soh-shee-]  Show IPA
noun Psychiatry .
a person with a psychopathic personality whose behavior is antisocial often criminal, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience.

They have been known to perpetrate the most vicious and vile verbal attacks on these victims that people have ever seen or experienced.  Some victims have even been forced to go into hiding after being attacked by a pit bull, and then the pit bull's owner.

If you don't believe it, go to any victim's memorial page (yes, even a child's) or to any article that talks about a recent attack, and see the comments section for yourself.  After the comments on the articles and memorial pages, these owners often seek out the victim, and the victim's personal information and begin their ruthless and unjust harassment on the victim.

Some victims have been brave enough to speak out regardless of these vicious verbal maulings, and have gone directly to their police departments, animal control officers, and sometimes even City Councils asking that new ordinances be set in place to ensure the safety of the city's residents.  Many times the owners of these dogs show up, whether in person, or via letters and emails and proceed to bully and threaten the City Council Representatives into NOT allowing these ordinances to be enacted. Sometimes the ordinance requested may only be something such as a request for pit bull type dogs to be muzzled in public, or a request for a mandatory spay/neuter of all pit bull type dogs.....But it doesn't matter.  These owners REFUSE to support ANY and ALL regulations of their pit bull type dogs.  WHY? Answer: See Sociopathic behavior above...Because they "lack a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience." They DO NOT care about the victims, not even a little bit.  All they care about is their own personal desires and wants "without concern for the effects of their behavior on others!"

They don't even care that it would help their pit bull type dogs.  They don't even care about their own dogs, just themselves and what they want.  An ordinance that requires all pit bull type dogs to be spayed/neutered would save millions (yes, millions) of pit bulls from being euthanized in shelters each year (yes, each year!).  But that doesn't matter! Who cares about the victims? Who cares about the dogs? It's all about the owners.

Now, here is this new Court of Appeals ruling from Maryland that states the owners and the landlords will be held 100% liable should a tenant's pit bull type dog attack someone, and they are fighting this tooth and nail!!! WHY? After all, it's always the owners of these dogs that say "it's not the dog, it's the owner who is at fault...for training their dog to attack, raising a vicious and unsocialized's the deed, not the breed!"  So why fight a Court Ruling that states EXACTLY that?!! Because they do not want ANY regulations on these dogs! NONE! They are walking contradictions that say one thing, and do another! People who "lack a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience!" ...and they care NOTHING for the victims of their violent and vicious mauling machines.

So, this Walk For Victims of Pit Bulls and Other Dangerous Dogs has been put together to give these VICTIMS a voice. A voice that they never would otherwise have. A way to get victims together and let them know that they are NOT alone, and they have support to fight for ordinances on these dogs, to speak up and to speak out!

This Walk is also the FIRST EVER of its kind, as nothing has ever been done in support of VICTIMS in the past....they only care about supporting the dogs that perpetrated the attack.
